Job summary

Lincoln Internal Medicine is seeking a dependable PRN Phlebotomist to support our outpatient clinic laboratory in Lincoln, NE. This role offers flexible/as-needed hours with a focus on accurate specimen collection and patient care.

Responsibilities include venipuncture, specimen handling, labeling, and coordinating with providers and labs. Requires a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy training; prior clinic experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy course or certificate preferred.
• Prior phlebotomy experience in a clinic, laboratory, or healthcare setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of blood draw tubes, specimen handling, and specimen integrity.

Responsibilities

• Verify each patient using two-identifier system before specimen collection.
• Collect blood specimens by venipuncture using aseptic technique.
• Collect swab specimens and other specimens per procedure.
• Label, route, and process specimens according to procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality under HIPAA/HITECH.
• Keep phlebotomy stations clean and stocked; monitor patient flow.
