Job summary

Juniper Gardens Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in North Carolina is seeking a compassionate PRN Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to work under an OT, supporting residents to achieve independence and mobility in a long-term care environment.

The role focuses on implementing treatment plans, documenting progress, and collaborating with the rehab team to promote recovery and quality of life. PRN flexibility and opportunities for ongoing training are offered.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current state license/registration as a COTA.
• Experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with patient movement.
• Strong communication and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care and exercises based on treatment plans created by the OT
• Assist residents with activities that support daily living and independence
• Accurately document therapy sessions and track patient progress
• Collaborate with therapists, nurses, and family members to support care goals
• Educate residents, families, and staff on at-home and restorative programs
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and quality improvement programs
• Float to nearby facilities if needed based on patient needs
