Job summary

The Primary Care Float Physician at MultiCare Health System provides comprehensive outpatient care across multiple clinics in the region. This flexible role supports coverage during provider absences and high patient volumes, adapting quickly to new settings within a multidisciplinary team.

Board-certified or eligible physicians licensed in Washington, with DEA and prescriptive authority and BLS certification, are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Board certified or eligible to practice medicine.
• Licensed in the State of Washington by time of employment.
• DEA and state prescriptive authority.
• Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification by the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Delivers primary care services, including preventive care, chronic disease management, acute illness evaluation and health screenings.
• Rotates among primary care clinics to provide coverage for clinicians who are away or when demand is high.
• Refers to specialists when necessary; collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality care.
• Timely and accurate documentation of direct patient encounters and asynchronous care.
• Supports transitions of care and quality improvement initiatives.
• Travels between clinic sites as requested.
