Job summary

Merryhill Preschool is seeking a dependable and flexible Long-Term Preschool Substitute Teacher to support our school. This role offers the opportunity to work across classrooms serving children from infants through school-age, ensuring continuity of care and learning when teachers are absent.

Ideal for those exploring early childhood education or looking to grow into a long-term classroom role, this position provides valuable experience and the potential to transition into a full-time teacher

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old with a High School Diploma or GED.
• PDIS Level 2 or higher.
• 6 months experience with children in a licensed childcare program.
• Ability to adapt to different age groups and classroom needs.
• Strong communication, reliability, and a warm, caring presence.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Support classroom instruction and routines across infant–school age classrooms.
• Assist with meals/snack times and transitions, maintaining safety.
• Follow lesson plans and schedules with teaching teams.
• Provide a clean, organized, and engaging learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Model professionalism, flexibility, and willingness to jump in as needed.
• Support continuity of care when teachers are absent.
