Job summary

TIBS for Kids in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA helps implement treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and enhance quality of life for patients.

You will guide patients through therapeutic exercises, monitor progress, educate families about at-home routines, and maintain a safe, HIPAA-compliant therapy area.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant Program (accredited).
• Licensure or certification as required by the state of employment.
• Familiarity with therapy equipment and techniques.
• Strong communication, empathy, and patience in dealing with patients of various conditions and ages.
• Ability to lift and support patients and remain active throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and mobility techniques.

• Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.

• Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.
• Report any significant changes in a patient's condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Record accurate notes on treatment provided and patient progress.
• Adhere to healthcare regulations, privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA), and safety protocols.
