Job summary

TIBS for Kids is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant in Fredericksburg, VA to work under a licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA will help execute treatment plans, guide patients through exercises, use therapy equipment, and monitor progress while maintaining HIPAA compliance and a safe clinical environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant Program (accredited).
• Licensure or certification as required by the state of employment.
• Familiarity with therapy equipment and techniques.

• Ability to lift and support patients and remain active throughout the workday.

Responsibilities

• Assist in carrying out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, stretches, and mobility techniques.
• Use specialized equipment to aid in patient recovery and rehabilitation.
• Monitor and document patient progress during therapy sessions.
• Communicate with patients to ensure their comfort and understanding of therapy goals.
• Educate patients and their families about at-home exercises and techniques for continued recovery.
• Prepare therapy rooms and equipment for patient use.
• Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.
• Report any significant changes in a patient's condition to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Record accurate notes on treatment provided and patient progress.
• Adhere to healthcare regulations, privacy standards (e.g., HIPAA), and safety protocols.
