Job summary

TIBS for Kids in Fredericksburg, VA seeks a licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to work under a Physical Therapist. The PTA will assist in implementing treatment plans to improve mobility, reduce pain, and support patient independence.

Responsibilities include guiding patients through exercises, using equipment, documenting progress, educating families, and maintaining a safe, HIPAA-compliant environment. Flexible schedule: part-time, full-time, per diem.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant Program (accredited) required.
• Licensure or certification as required by the state of employment.
• Familiarity with therapy equipment and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Carry out physical therapy treatment plans as directed by the PT.
• Guide patients through exercises, stretches, and mobility work.
• Use specialized equipment to aid in recovery and rehabilitation.
• Monitor and document patient progress during sessions.
• Communicate with patients about therapy goals and comfort.
• Educate patients and families on at-home exercises.
• Prepare therapy rooms and equipment for patient use.
• Maintain a clean and safe therapy environment.
• Report changes in patient condition to the PT.
• Record notes on treatment and progress.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA and safety protocols.
