Job summary

Singing River Health System is seeking a Phlebotomist/Courier to transport specimens and collect samples at Singing River Pascagoula Hospital. You will verify orders, perform venipunctures and ensure proper specimen labeling and handling according to established procedures.

This role requires attention to detail, patient interaction skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced lab environment. Flexible part-time shifts with rotating weekends are available.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required; some college with courses in a health or science-related field preferred.
• Training in computer, basic office equipment and medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports and verifies laboratory specimens to and from the clinic site and Singing River Health System.
• Performs venipunctures, heel and finger sticks, and other specimen collections for clinical laboratory testing.
• Ensures accurate patient identification, labeling, preservation, transportation and pre-test processing.
• Performs clerical duties and communicates results to nursing staff and physicians.
