Calaveras Pharmacy is a friendly, independent community pharmacy in Milpitas, CA, seeking a Pharmacy Assistant to join our team. The role focuses on customer service, cash handling, and clerical support in a fast-paced retail setting.

The ideal candidate is dependable, communicates well with patients, and enjoys helping others, with training provided for pharmacy systems and procedures. Flexible part-time hours are available, with on-the-job training offered.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English is required. Vietnamese language proficiency is highly preferred.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when assisting elderly patients.
• Comfortable using computers, entering information accurately, and operating a cash register.
• Previous retail pharmacy or customer service experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others in a busy retail environment.
• Punctuality, dependability, attention to detail, and a professional attitude.
• Interested in a stable, ongoing position and willing to communicate scheduling changes or availability concerns promptly.

Responsabilités

• Greet and assist patients in a courteous, professional, and compassionate manner, with special attention to elderly patients.
• Answer telephone calls, respond to general inquiries, and relay messages accurately to pharmacists and other pharmacy staff.
• Operate the cash register, process customer transactions, and handle payments accurately.
• Perform basic data entry and administrative tasks using pharmacy computer systems.
• Assist with stocking, organizing, and maintaining pharmacy merchandise and supplies.
• Collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other staff to maintain smooth daily operations.
• Perform additional administrative and customer service duties as assigned, consistent with applicable pharmacy regulations.
