Job summary

Humana Inc. is seeking a per diem Speech Language Pathologist for CenterWell Home Health serving the Iowa City area. You’ll assess, treat, and coordinate care to help patients regain communication, swallowing, and independence in home or facility settings.

The role emphasizes flexible scheduling, adherence to Plan of Treatment, documentation, and collaboration with families and care teams. Licensure, ASHA CCC, CPR, and valid driver's license required.

Qualifications

• Certification of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology or Audiology per ASHA is required.
• Minimum of six months experience as a speech language pathologist.
• Current and unrestricted license and CPR certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, direct and provide speech/language pathology service to patients in home or facility.
• Develop and review Plan of Treatment and Plan of Care.
• Administer and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic treatments including aphasia screening.
• Observe and report changes in patient condition to supervisor or physician.
• Provide instruction on alternative communication systems when appropriate.
