Job summary

Universal Health Services' Southridge Behavioral Hospital in Byron Center, MI is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to carry out daily patient care under RN and supervisor direction. Responsibilities include direct patient care per plans, maintaining a safe milieu, assisting with behavior management, admissions/discharges with the RN, and administering medications with documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of practical nursing.
• Basic understanding of psychiatric nursing theory and practice, with previous psychiatric clinical experience desired.
• Current LPN licensure in the State of Michigan.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care according to nursing care plans and the patient’s treatment plan.
• Maintains a safe and therapeutic milieu with other personnel.
• Assists with behavior management, crisis control, seclusion and restraint under the direction of the RN.
• Partners with the RN on patient admissions and discharges.
• Administers medications and treatments; supports medication education and monitoring effectiveness; documents administration and treatments per policies.
