Job summary

Lowell General Hospital is seeking a Per Diem Food Service Attendant to support dietary operations across patient and retail locations. You will assist with menu selection, food preparation, tray assembly, and delivery while maintaining sanitation and regulatory standards.

The role emphasizes teamwork with the dietitian and care teams, flexible hours up to 24 per week, and a focus on patient nutrition and service excellence.

Qualifications

• Food service experience required.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year hospital food service experience preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with patients and staff.
• Familiarity with therapeutic diets and sterile food handling techniques.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals per diet orders.
• Deliver and collect patient trays on the tray line.
• Maintain sanitation and temperature logs per regulatory requirements.
• Stock pantries and assist with menu planning and food prep.
• Operate kitchen equipment and utensils for cooking and dishwashing.
• Assist with setup, serving and delivery of food from counters and steam tables.
