Job summary

United Energy Workers Healthcare is seeking a dedicated PCA 1099 Independent Contractor to provide non-skilled personal care in clients’ homes. You’ll design a flexible schedule while supporting daily living activities and basic household tasks with compassion and dignity.

The role focuses on ADLs, safety, light housekeeping, meal reminders, and companionship. Travel to patient homes is required, with HIPAA-compliant privacy and professional conduct emphasized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State-approved PCA training program may be required in some states.
• PCA contractors must be listed on aide registry or credential database in some states.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Previous experience in personal care or caregiving strongly preferred.
• Reliable personal transportation required for travel to patient homes and the regional office.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide basic support with ambulation, transfers, and safe positioning.
• Assist with meal preparation and basic nutrition reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping to promote a clean, safe home.
• Offer companionship and engage in supportive interaction.
• Document time worked and services rendered per agency requirements.
• Report observed changes in patient condition to agency personnel.
• Maintain confidentiality and patient dignity per HIPAA and agency standards.
