Job summary

United Energy Workers Healthcare is seeking a dedicated PCA 1099 Independent Contractor to provide non-medical care in clients’ homes and design a flexible schedule that fits both the contractor and clients’ needs.

The PCA supports ADLs, safety, and comfort, with responsibilities including bathing, mobility, meal prep, light housekeeping, companionship, and documentation per agency requirements. Confidentiality and HIPAA compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State-approved PCA training program may be required in some states.
• Aide registry/credential database listing may be required in some states.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Previous experience in personal care, home health, or caregiving strongly preferred.
• Reliable personal transportation required for travel to patient homes and the regional office, as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility.
• Provide basic support with ambulation, transfers, and safe positioning.
• Assist with meal preparation and basic nutrition reminders.
• Perform light housekeeping duties to promote a clean and safe home environment.
• Offer companionship and engage in appropriate supportive interaction.
• Document time worked and services rendered per agency requirements.
• Report observed changes in patient condition to designated agency personnel.
• Maintain confidentiality and patient dignity in accordance with HIPAA and agency standards.

We’re seeking a dedicated PCA 1099 Independent Contractor to join our team. As a 1099 Independent Contractor, you’ll have the flexibility to set your own schedule while providing routine healthcare services in clients’ homes. This role allows you to design a work schedule that suits both your needs and those of your clients.

The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) contractor provides non-skilled, non-medical personal care services to home-based patients as authorized in the care plan. The PCA supports patient safety, independence, and comfort by assisting with daily living needs and basic household tasks. The PCA operates solely as an independent contractor and does not possess employee status or authority to direct care.
