Job summary

Rutherford County Schools Spindale Elementary School in Spindale, North Carolina is seeking a Temporary Part-Time Tutor to provide supplemental academic support to students. This role works under the supervision of school administrators and designated instructional staff and is limited to 25 hours per week and temporary status.

The tutor will address learning gaps in reading and math, monitor progress, and maintain records while following classroom objectives and schedules.

Qualifications

Associate's degree or 48 college credits required; higher preferred.
Prior experience working with school-age children is preferred.
Must pass a criminal background check as required by the school system.

Responsibilities

Provide small group and/or one-on-one tutoring in reading and math.
Assist with targeted instructional activities aligned with classroom objectives.
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to supervising staff.
Maintain records of tutoring sessions and student participation.
Follow the school schedule and expectations for student engagement and supervision.
Communicate professionally with students, staff, and families as needed.
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to RCS policies and procedures.
