Job summary

Sorenson Communications in Phoenix, AZ seeks part-time Deaf and hearing community interpreters to deliver high-quality interpretation services for Deaf consumers across multiple locations. Hours are scheduled to meet community demand, with a minimum of 10 hours per month.

Candidates must demonstrate strong ASL and English skills, pass a skills assessment, and have a high school diploma or GED. An associate/bachelor’s degree is preferred and interpreter certification may be required; some roles

Qualifications

• Pass required skills assessment
• High school diploma or GED (required)
• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred
• Interpreter certification as required by local regulations
• 3 years’ interpreter experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Interpret between ASL and spoken English
• Interpret between ASL, Tactile ASL and written English
