Job summary

Holy Cross Health in Silver Spring, MD is seeking a part-time Physical Therapy Assistant to support the Rehab unit. You will provide PT services under the supervision of a licensed PT, help develop and implement rehabilitation plans, and educate patients and families.

Responsibilities include applying treatment plans, training patients and families on equipment use, and assisting with discharge planning in collaboration with the care team.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate from a PTA training program accredited by the APTA.
• Required: Associate degree.
• State of Maryland Physical Therapist Assistant license or eligible to obtain licensure prior to hire date.
• American Heart Association BLS.

Responsibilities

• Providing treatment and services within their license's scope, as required by law and regulation.
• Accountable for the implementation of a written treatment plan and administers treatment for each patient according to the stated goals.
• Help train patients and the patient's family in the use of medical equipment and make recommendations for appropriate equipment as necessary.
• Participates in planning for patient discharge by considering and communicating with patients, families, and community.
• Continuously assesses patient's status and effects of treatment when warranted; reviews goals with patient and family as appropriate during plan of care.
