Job summary

OCOM Hospital in North Oklahoma City is seeking a Part-Time PACU Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical services team. In the PACU, you will provide compassionate, patient-centered care as patients recover from anesthesia, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative staff.

The ideal candidate holds an Oklahoma RN license, BLS certification, and strong assessment skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current Oklahoma RN license or eligibility.
• Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within required timeframe.
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and document findings accurately.
• Prepare patients for procedures according to established clinical standards and hospital policies.
• Monitor patients during the immediate post-anesthesia recovery period.
• Assess, manage, and communicate changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and effectively.
• Provide patient and family education regarding procedures, recovery expectations, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to coordinate patient care.
• Respond appropriately to emergency situations utilizing ACLS, PALS, and established clinical protocols.
• Support hospital quality, safety, and infection prevention initiatives.
