West Haven Community House in the United States seeks Life Skills Coaches to support residents in the Residential Program and DDS funded Day program. The role involves direct care, building independence, safety, and daily living support, with flexible scheduling for part-time and per diem openings.

You will work as part of a team, maintain a clean and safe environment, and follow behavioral plans while advocating for individuals' choices and dignity.

Formación

• High School Diploma; 2 years of related experience with adults with intellectual disabilities preferred.
• Must be 21 years old or older.
• Certification in CPR/First Aid required prior to hire.
• Valid CT Driver's license, clean driving record and ability to obtain and maintain approval from leased vehicle company.
• Must obtain and maintain all certifications such as Physical Management Techniques (PMT) and DDS Medication Certification as required by DDS standards.

Responsabilidades

• Ensures a safe and accessible environment for all individuals.
• Adheres to safety protocols and wellbeing guidelines.
• Exhibits a caring, empathetic attitude towards individuals.
• Uses incidental teaching to model appropriate behavior during instructions.
• Provides transportation for individuals when needed.
• Assists with personal hygiene and daily living tasks.
• Follows dietary guidelines and food consistency requirements.
• Maintains supervision per person-centered plan.
• Implements Behavioral Support Plans and/or Behavioral Guidelines.
• Advocates for individuals and respects their choices.
• Maintains current training/certifications and recertifications.
