Job summary

Central Valley Fire District (CVFD) is seeking qualified EMTs to join our EMS Transport Program as a part-time EMS Transport EMT. This role supports non-emergency interfacility transports and select 911 meet-up transports, with a flexible schedule and potential wildland deployment as a Red Carded Fireline EMT.

Qualifications

Job description

Position Title: Part-Time EMS Division EMT

Compensation: $20/hour

Work Commitment: Minimum of 96 hours/month, not to exceed 32 hours/week

Position Overview:

Central Valley Fire District (CVFD) is seeking qualified and motivated EMTs to join ourEMS
Division. This part-time position supports non-emergency interfacility
transports (IFTs) and selected out-of-district 911 meet-up/transports. EMS DivisionEMTs play a criticalrole in expanding EMS capacity, relieving pressure on suppression crews, and enhancing servicedelivery to rural communities. It is anticipated that there will be opportunities for wildland fire deployments as a Red Carded Fireline EMT.

This position offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to be part of an innovative and growing
EMS model. It also serves as a potential pathway into full-time EMS employment within CVFD.

Primary Responsibilities:
• Provide non-emergency medical transport for patients between healthcare facilities
• Assist in select 911 transports
• Deliver high-quality patient care under CVFD and partner agency protocols
• Ensure safe vehicle operation and timely documentation of patient care

Minimum Qualifications:
• Current EMT certification (State of Montana or National Registry)
• Valid CPR/BLS certification
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Successful completion of a background check
• Participation in a structured interview and a medical scenario assessment
• Completion of CVFD district orientation and policy compliance
• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in medical environments

Preferred Qualifications:
• Prior experience in EMS transport or interfacility transfers
• Familiarity with rural EMS operations or multi-agency coordination
