Job summary

Sticky Fingers Cooking Central New Jersey is seeking enthusiastic, reliable part-time Chef Instructors to lead hands-on cooking classes for children and older adults across our service area.

Classes may occur during the school day, after school, or in the morning/early afternoon, offering a flexible schedule. Instructors will travel to various venues, arrive early, and adapt their approach to different ages while creating a fun, engaging learning experience.

Qualifications

• Comfortable and enthusiastic working with both children and older adults.
• Available to teach at least 2 days per week with flexible daytime hours.
• Able to teach 1-hour classes (approx. 90 minutes onsite) and arrive 15–20 minutes early.
• Willing to commit to multi-week sessions (4–12 weeks).
• Punctual, reliable, and confident managing groups of 8–14 participants.
• Willing to travel up to 1 hour to teaching locations.
• Able to lift up to 30 lbs to transport equipment and supplies.
• Have (or are willing to obtain) a ServSafe Food Handler Certification.
• Have reliable transportation.
• Able to pass state and FBI background checks as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on cooking classes for kids and older adults in a friendly, safe environment.
• Adapt pacing and language to suit different age groups.
• Create connection and community through shared cooking experiences.
• Stay organized by preparing for sessions with provided curriculum, shopping for ingredients, and setting up/breaking down spaces.
• Represent the brand as a positive, professional presence in front of participants and partners.
