Job summary

Teacher Tutors, LLC. is seeking a part-time Economics Tutor to work one-on-one with motivated students including AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics, as well as introductory college economics.

Sessions take place in students’ homes, online, or at our Livingston, NJ office, with scheduling that fits afternoon, evening, or weekend availability and travel within your preferred radius. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in Economics or related field, has tutoring experience, and can explain

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Economics or related quantitative field; Master’s/PhD candidates welcome.
• Demonstrated mastery of AP Microeconomics and AP Macroeconomics and introductory college econ; ability to scale to intermediate level.
• Teaching or tutoring experience with high school or college students.
• Strong communication and patient approach; able to explain graphs in multiple ways.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one tutoring sessions tailored to each student’s course, instructor’s expectations, and learning goals.
• Plan lessons and prepare materials (problem sets, graph practice, model walkthroughs, AP-style FRQs and MCQs, and exam-prep schedules).
• Build fluency with graphs and economic models (supply and demand, AD-AS, IS-LM, production possibilities, game theory) and translate between verbal, graphical, and mathematical representations.
• Track progress and adjust pacing, materials, and difficulty based on what’s working.
• Submit a short session note after each tutoring session and flag concerns to our Director early.
• Communicate clearly and warmly with parents.
• Contribute to our team’s shared practice and raise the bar.
