Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform professional duties in diagnostic imaging using ionizing radiation. You will operate specialized equipment, apply radiopharmacy knowledge, and administer diagnostic doses under supervision.

The role requires CAHEA-accredited education, NMTCB/ARRT certification, and strong communication skills. Flexible days/shifts supported; on-site facility located at 1906 Belleview Ave SE.

Qualifications

• Education: High school graduate or equivalent; CAHEA School of Radiologic Technology and/or CAHEA School of Nuclear Medicine Technology or equivalent.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure, Certification: NMTCB or ARRT certification.
• Other: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain images and test results.
• Administers diagnostic/therapeutic doses by IV, inhalation or ingestion under an authorized user.
• Prepares patients for examinations and explains procedures.
• Coordinates processing tasks such as scheduling, registration, image management and computer processing.
• Maintains professional ethics, care, courtesy, and safety with patients.
• Participates in training of students and staff as assigned.
