Job summary

Empowerment Quality Care Services in Charlotte, NC seeks reliable, compassionate Independent Contractor Drivers to provide Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT). Transport patients to appointments, rehab centers, and other healthcare services with safety and professionalism.

As a 1099 contractor you control your schedule, choosing morning and afternoon shifts; some Saturdays. You’ll log trips and mileage in our digital routing app while delivering high-quality care and respect.

Qualifications

• Age 21 years or older.
• NEMT, rideshare, or delivery experience is a plus.
• Active driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Proof of valid vehicle registration and insurance.
• Background check and drug screening required.
• CPR/First Aid certification and PASS training are highly preferred (willingness to obtain).
• Excellent communication, patience and empathy for clients.

Responsibilities

• Safe transportation of ambulatory or wheelchair-bound clients to medical facilities.
• Adhere to scheduled pick-up/drop-off times and ensure timely arrivals.
• Provide door-to-door assistance for clients entering/exiting the vehicle.
• Use GPS/routing tools to find efficient paths while obeying traffic laws.
• Maintain clear communication with dispatch and clients regarding delays.
• Log trips, mileage, and client signatures via the digital routing app.
