Job summary

APPS provides mobile life and disability insurance examination services across a network of independent examiners. We seek dependable, experienced phlebotomists and medical assistants to perform home and on-site examinations for life and disability insurance applicants.

As an independent contractor, you will travel within approximately 30 miles of your home ZIP code to complete basic medical examinations. Appointments typically take 15–45 minutes depending on carrier requirements.

Qualifications

• Strong phlebotomy and venipuncture skills.
• Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, EMT, LPN, RN, or similar clinical experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.
• Smartphone and basic computer skills.
• Professional appearance and excellent communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own appointments.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• EKG experience helpful but not required — training provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic health screenings and medical histories.
• Measure height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and other required measurements.
• Perform venipuncture and collect blood, urine, and occasionally saliva specimens.
• Perform EKGs when required — training is provided.
• Accurately complete examination paperwork and electronic documentation.
• Prepare specimens for shipment and ensure they are shipped within 24 hours of collection.
• Provide professional, courteous service to clients in homes, workplaces, or other locations.
