Job summary

St. Luke’s Health System is seeking a flexible Laboratory Assistant to support phlebotomy, specimen processing, and client services across Treasure Valley locations.

The role requires attention to detail, patient-focused service, and the ability to adapt to variable schedules including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Training will occur upfront, with hours per week varying thereafter.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or equivalent experience is preferred.
• National certification (ASCP, NHA, NCCT) is preferred.
• Familiarity with EHR and LIS systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection following safety and quality standards.
• Receive, verify, and process specimens from inpatient and outpatient sources per lab protocols.
• Enter data into LIS and coordinate with clinical teams to resolve discrepancies.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of phlebotomy workstations and equipment.
