Job summary

St. Luke’s Health System is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support diagnostic and clinical operations across inpatient/outpatient settings. The role covers phlebotomy, specimen processing, client services, and histology, with a focus on accuracy and patient-centered care.

The position requires a high school diploma; phlebotomy training and ASCP/NHA/NCCT certification are preferred. Flex scheduling may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program or equivalent experience is preferred.
• National certification (e.g., ASCP, NHA, NCCT) preferred.
• 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital-based lab setting.
• Familiarity with EHR and LIS.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures.
• Accurately identify patients and label specimens.
• Provide compassionate patient-centered care.
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of phlebotomy workstations.
