Job summary

Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP) is hiring a substitute Kitchen Aide to support meal service at the Waterville and Skowhegan locations. This as-needed role assists the Cook with food prep, serves meals to children and adults, and helps maintain CACFP compliance and kitchen safety.

The position requires a high school diploma, experience in food service, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds; ServSafe preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in food service operation.
• Knowledge of food safety sanitation regulations; ServSafe certification preferred.
• Ability to relate positively to children and adults.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and to perform physical activities as needed.
• Pass a physical examination and background checks including fingerprinting.

Responsibilities

• Assists the Cook with food preparation for meals, meetings and catering.
• Adheres to CACFP, Head Start, and Child Care guidelines for meals.
• Transports food and dishes to meal settings and meeting rooms.
• Maintains kitchen safety and sanitation per OSHA and ServSafe standards.
• Assists with food and supply orders.
• Supports interdisciplinary work and collaboration.
