Job summary

Cortland County Community Action Program is seeking a part-time Dining/Food Service Assistant to receive food and supplies, set tables, and serve meals at the designated site. The role includes cleaning dining and kitchen areas, maintaining sanitation, and recording temperatures and inventory as required.

Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED (or related experience). A valid driver's license is required, and some travel to Head Start sites may be necessary.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, or one or more years related experience and/or training.
• Must have an acceptable driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Receive food and food supplies and sign daily delivery notices.
• Record changes on center menu.
• Record temperatures of hot dishes upon arrival and before serving.
• Test bleach with test strips and record sanitize levels.
• Maintain kitchen and dining area cleanliness at all times.
• Assist in daily snack preparation as needed.
• Wash dishes, silverware, serving dishes and cookware.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies.
