Job summary

IFS, a union-affiliated facility services provider, is seeking a General Cleaner in New Jersey to join our Janitorial Services Team. The role covers cleaning rooms, restrooms, offices, and common areas according to site schedules and safety rules.

Full-time positions offer a flexible schedule including day and night shifts, with potential benefits under the applicable CBA and opportunities for growth in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Lift and move totes up to 49 pounds.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing from 15 to 25 pounds.
• Standing and walking for up to 10–12 hours.
• Climb ladders and gangways safely and without limitation.
• Read and interpret safety and operation documents in English (Spanish where required).

Responsibilities

• Clean rooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, stairways, and windows.
• Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors.
• Empty trash and manage recycling per site procedures.
• Dust fixtures, shelves, and equipment; polish surfaces as needed.
• Report work completed to supervisor daily and assist with other duties as assigned.
