Job summary

Shepherd Health and Living LLC seeks a Direct Support Professional to work one-on-one with patients in their homes. You will follow a personalized care plan, building relationships and ensuring a healthy, safe environment.

Strong verbal and written communication are needed; Home Health or Hospice experience is a plus but not required. We offer training, growth, and a flexible schedule with part-time options and immediate shifts.

Qualifications

• Strong one-on-one patient care skills and compassion.
• CPR/First Aid certification required or obtainable.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Driver's license/ID required and car insurance if driving clients.
• Background check (BCI/FBI) completed; costs reimbursed.
• Social Security Card for onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with daily activities and mobility.
• Care for patients by housekeeping and personal care tasks.
• Maintain records of patient care and report observations.
• Build relationships with patients through conversation or reading aloud.
• Give medications and support immunizations as directed.
• Engage patients in exercises or activities.
