Star Harbor Care is seeking a warm, dependable Flexible In-Home Childcare Backup Caregiver to join our San Jose, CA team. You will provide on-call, in-home childcare for families and support children with engaging, age-appropriate activities in their own homes.

Ideal candidates have prior childcare experience and be CPR and First Aid certified, with reliable transportation and the ability to travel to client homes.

Qualifications

• Prior childcare experience preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications required.
• TrustLine preferred for faster hiring.
• Must be located in Sunnyvale, San Jose, or Santa Clara areas.

Responsabilités

• Provide on-call, backup in-home childcare for families as needed.
• Supervise and engage children with age-appropriate activities.
• Maintain a safe and nurturing home environment.
• Assist with daily routines including meals, naps, and hygiene.
• Communicate with parents about the child's day and needs.
• Follow family schedules and preferences.
• Respond promptly to last-minute placement requests.

About the Role:

Star Harbor Care is looking for a warm, dependable Flexible In-Home Childcare Backup Caregiver to join our growing team in San Jose, CA! Responsibilities:

• Provide on-call, backup in-home childcare services for families on an as-needed basis
• Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities, play, and learning
• Maintain safe, nurturing, and stimulating environments within the family's home
• Assist with daily routines including meals, nap times, and hygiene
• Communicate clearly and professionally with parents and guardians regarding child's day and needs
• Follow each family's specific household rules, schedules, and childcare preferences
• Respond promptly to last-minute or short-notice placement requests

Requirements:

• Prior childcare experience (nanny, babysitter, daycare, or similar role) strongly preferred
• Flexible availability - Have two or three full weekdays available to do pick up cases
• Must have current CPR and First Aid certifications
• Prefer to have Trust Line -Candidates with trustline will fast track in the hiring process
• Must be located in Sunnyvale, San Jose, Santa Clara areas
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to client homes
• Warm, patient, and adaptable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
• Must pass background check and provide professional references
• Strong reliability and responsiveness to last-minute scheduling needs

About the shifts:

• The shifts are normally 6 to 8 hours long
• Shifts can start as early as 7:00 AM
• We do have shifts at night but not over night
