Job summary

Little Lambs at Bay Leaf in Raleigh, NC is seeking Substitute Teachers to provide a safe, nurturing learning environment when regular teachers are absent. The ideal candidate is caring, dependable, and enthusiastic and ready to support daily classroom routines.

Responsibilities include following daily schedules, supervising children, assisting with meals and diapering, engaging children in activities, and maintaining a clean, welcoming classroom.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children in a childcare, preschool, school, camp, or similar setting preferred.
• Personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to remain calm, patient, and positive in a busy classroom environment.
• Ability to lift, carry, bend, sit, stand, and actively participate in activities with young children.
• Must meet have a clear background check, and be willing to take CPR and Sexual Abuse Awareness Training.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, warm, and nurturing environment for all children.
• Follow the classroom's established daily schedule, routines, and lesson plans.
• Supervise children closely at all times and maintain appropriate classroom ratios.
• Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including play, learning, art, music, stories, and outdoor activities.
• Assist with meals, snacks, diapering, toileting, handwashing, and other daily care routines as needed.
• Support children's social, emotional, and developmental needs.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Follow Little Lambs' health, safety, sanitation, and emergency procedures.
• Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, teachers, and administrators.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding children, families, and center operations.
• Complete required classroom documentation and incident reports when necessary.
• Step into different classrooms and age groups as needed.
• Perform other duties related to the care and supervision of children as assigned.
