Job summary

LeafSpring School at Cornelius is seeking a Substitute Teacher for our early childhood program. This role covers classrooms to provide a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for every child.

You will support teaching teams, adapt to different classrooms and ages, and maintain routines while ensuring positive social, emotional, and cognitive development throughout the day.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Genuine love for working with children.
• Dependable, patient, nurturing, and flexible.
• CPR and First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom coverage and support as assigned by school leadership.
• Maintain active supervision and accountability of children at all times.
• Follow established classroom schedules, routines, lesson plans, and transitions.
• Engage children in age-appropriate learning experiences, play, and activities.
• Support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
• Assist with meals, diapering, toileting, rest periods, transitions, and other daily routines as appropriate.
• Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
• Follow health, sanitation, infection control, safety, and licensing requirements.
• Support positive guidance and age-appropriate classroom management practices.
• Supervise children appropriately during indoor and outdoor activities.
