Job summary

The Archdiocese of St. Louis is seeking a Cafeteria Aide to support daily lunch operations in a school cafeteria.

The role focuses on providing a clean, safe, orderly, and welcoming environment for students during meal times and assisting with food service tasks in alignment with Catholic values. Responsibilities include serving meals, maintaining sanitation, monitoring student behavior, and following all health procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma preferred.
• Experience in cafeteria, food service, childcare, or school setting helpful but not required.
• Ability to work well with children and school staff.
• Dependable, friendly, patient and responsible.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of student meals and snacks.
• Help set up and organize the cafeteria before meal service.
• Monitor students during meal times and encourage appropriate table manners and respectful behavior.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and school health procedures.
• Maintain clean and sanitary tables, counters, serving areas, and floors.
• Assist with washing dishes, utensils, trays, and other cafeteria equipment.
• Restock food, supplies, utensils, napkins, and other items.
• Properly handle and dispose of food waste and trash.
• Report spills, safety concerns, damaged equipment, or other problems to the supervisor.
• Support a positive, respectful environment aligned with Catholic values.
