Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Peabody Institute seeks an Audio-Visual Technician to support sound reinforcement, live audio mixing, and video production for over 1000 events across Conservatory and Preparatory programs. You will collaborate with conductors, artistic directors, and guest artists to ensure high-quality, safe productions.

Responsibilities include equipment management, stage setup, and coordinating with students and staff.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years related experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent education/experience per university policy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in all aspects of production activities; primary duties include sound reinforcement, live audio mixing, and live video production.
  • Manage inventory and allocation of sound and video equipment with Lead Audio Visual Technician.
  • Support stage production, including setting up A/V equipment, projectors, video screens, and video switchers.
  • Plan and coordinate events requiring A/V support with students, faculty, staff, and guest artists.
  • Provide production support for events; configure stage setups, risers, and lighting as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
