Qualifications

• Experience working with groups of children in educational, recreational, or mentoring settings.
• Ability to lead a class independently and create engaging, fun sessions.
• Professional, positive, kid-friendly demeanor and role-model behavior.
• Strong grasp of chess fundamentals and ability to explain moves, basics, and tactics appropriately for kids.
• Ability to connect chess problem-solving to real-life scenarios.
• Reliable personal transportation and ability to drive between school sites.
• Availability on weekday afternoons 2:00 PM–5:00 PM to teach 1–5 classes weekly.
• Commitment to school safety protocols and supervising children.
• Strong punctuality and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead fun, interactive chess classes for 10–15 elementary students.
• Use our curriculum to teach chess fundamentals and promote good sportsmanship.
• Manage a lively classroom with confidence and positivity.

• Follow school safety protocols during arrival, dismissal, and in-class activities.
• Travel to various local school sites for each session.
