Job summary

BrightStar Care of Lake County is seeking a caring Caregiver to provide in-home, one-on-one support to seniors and adults in Merrillville, IN. The role offers flexible scheduling, weekly pay, and the potential for 40+ hours per week based on client needs.

The position is part-time hourly with opportunities to pick up additional shifts. You’ll perform personal care, meal prep, transportation, and safety tasks while building meaningful relationships with clients in their homes.

Qualifications

• Six months of professional or personal caregiving experience preferred.
• Current CPR Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Negative TB Test or Chest X-Ray.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Reliable, insured vehicle.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check.
• Ability to pass a drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Personal care, bathing, dressing and grooming.
• Companionship and emotional support.
• Meal preparation.
• Medication reminders.
• Light housekeeping and laundry.
• Transportation to appointments and errands.
• Mobility assistance and safe transfers.
• Fall prevention and client safety.
• Documentation of care provided.
• Communication with clients, families and the care team.
