Job summary

Anova Health Care System is hiring Direct Care Workers to support individuals across Allegheny County.

Hours are flexible with multiple openings and you’ll follow a care plan to provide meals, light housekeeping, personal care, companionship, and errands in clients’ homes. You’ll be supervised by the agency team and matched to nearby clients to minimize travel. We invest in your training with 20 hours of in-service education each year plus annual six-topic training.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Reliable transportation to assignments.
• Physical ability to handle daily tasks of the role.
• Read, write, understand, and speak English.
• Mature, responsible judgment and respect for consumer privacy.
• Willingness to complete our employment process and follow the care plan.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare meals that fit dietary needs.
• Light housekeeping to keep the home safe and comfortable.
• Personal care including bathing, grooming, oral hygiene, hair care, and toileting.
• Assist with walking and movement using aids.
• Provide companionship and engagement activities.
• Run errands and grocery shopping as needed.
