Job summary

Hometown Health Center in Palmyra, ME seeks a full-time Child Care Aide to support teachers and care for children across multiple classrooms. You will help implement engaging activities, greet families warmly, and maintain a safe, welcoming environment throughout the day.

Responsibilities include assisting with curriculum, coordinating transitions, and communicating with lead teachers about child development.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; advanced degrees preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain it; MRTQ registration preferred or willingness to complete training.
  • Compliance with all DHHS background checks and licensing regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in implementing age-appropriate curriculum.
  • Greet families and children warmly at drop-off.
  • Help with transitions during pick-up times.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Communicate with lead teacher about child needs and development.
  • Build positive relationships with children and families.
  • Follow center policies and DHHS training requirements.
