Job summary

NASDA – National Association of State Departments of Agriculture is hiring a detail-oriented Field Enumerator for a part-time role with flexible hours and the option to work from home. The position supports our agriculture nonprofit mission from Newark, NY and surrounding communities.

You will interview farmers and agricultural businesses, perform field counts, and maintain accurate records while traveling as needed. A reliable personal vehicle and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience multitasking in an energetic, deadline-oriented work environment.
• Ability to positively represent NASDA and the benefits of enumerators in all survey actions.
• Ability to make crop counts in designated fields.
• Ability to maintain a reliable personal vehicle.
• Ability to conduct interviews in person or by telephone with farm operators and other individuals.
• Knowledge about computers or iPads.

Responsibilities

• Interview farmers, ranchers, and agricultural businesses in person or by phone to collect data.
• Travel to designated fields to perform crop counts as needed.
• Maintain detailed, legible records of interviews, counts, mileage, expenditures, and hours worked.
• Complete enumerator duties from a residence with a usable phone and a personal vehicle as needed.
