Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Lexington, Virginia is seeking an EMT-Basic for the Lexington Transport team. This flex/PRN, in-person role supports emergency medical services with basic life support and patient transport in ground ambulances.

You will respond to 911 calls, perform initial treatment at the scene, and maintain patient records while ensuring safety and compliance with Virginia state requirements. A VA EMT license and BLS-HCP, plus CE hours, are required.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as Virginia EMT.
• AHA BLS - HCP required.
• HAZMAT Awareness and PHTLS/BTLS within 1 year of hire.
• Driving record must be provided; ongoing CE hours required.

Responsibilities

• Administers basic life support and transports patients.
• Responds to 911 emergencies and provides cardiac/trauma support.
• Performs initial scene treatment and assesses patient response.
• Maintains reports and records for physicians and insurance.
• Transports patients to hospital while maintaining safety.
