Domestic Violence Services of Southwestern Pennsylvania (DVSSP) seeks a compassionate Advocate to provide trauma‑informed direct services, including hotline counseling, safety planning, information, referrals, and advocacy for survivors of domestic violence. You will assist with service planning, transportation, and accompany clients to legal proceedings as needed.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff, adherence to confidentiality, and ongoing training.

Qualifikationen

• Translatable work experience.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to provide ongoing supervision, training, and professional development.
• Collaborate with peers and other departments within the agency.
• Working knowledge of community resources.

Aufgaben

• Provide direct service using an educative, trauma‑informed model.
• Conduct hotline counseling, safety planning, referrals, and advocacy.
• Assist with service plans, scheduling, and records updates.
• Provide intakes and transportation as needed; arrange hotline coverage.
• Educate clients about legal options and accompany to hearings.
• Maintain confidentiality and complete required reports and statistics.
