Job summary

All Ways Caring HomeCare is hiring Direct Support Professionals to provide compassionate in-home care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a home-like setting. As a DSP, you will perform personal care tasks, support daily living activities, and help clients maintain independence while documenting care and coordinating with their support team.

A valid driver's license and background check are required; DSP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Eighteen years of age or older.
• Pass background check.
• Driver's license with valid auto insurance.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification; or equivalent and at least six (6) months of experience providing behavioral health related services to individuals with I/DD.

Responsibilities

• Performing personal care tasks, including hygiene, grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks.
• Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their circle of support.
• Encouraging self-help activities.
• Implements Individual Service Plan and Behavior Support Plans.
• Manage individuals' behaviors by prevention or de-escalation of aggression.
• Keeps accurate daily documentation of activities, drills, medications, goals and data tracking, and other documentation.
• Transport individuals to and from community activities and medical appointments.
• Transporting clients or running errands for clients.
• Other duties as assigned.
