Job summary

University of Maryland Medical System Corporation is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide safe, compassionate care in collaboration with licensed nurses. Responsibilities include patient assessments, ADL support, and rapid response to needs within a non-union environment.

Requires Maryland CNA certification, NLN-equivalent training options, and STABLE certification for NICU/L&D/post-partum units. This is an on-site position with weekend scheduling and holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of Medical Terminology and terminology used in patient care.
• CNA certification active in Maryland; non-union role.
• STABLE certification required for NICU/L&D/post-resuscitation units.

Responsibilities

• Provides safe, effective patient care as directed by the licensed nurse.
• Obtains basic patient information and reports abnormal values to the nurse.
• Orients patients to the care environment to promote comfort and safety.
• Observes and reports physical and emotional patient changes to the nurse.
• Monitors patients for falls or skin breakdown and reports concerns.
• Provides regular patient visits and responds promptly to patient needs.
