Job summary

The Goddard School in San Antonio seeks a dynamic Teacher/Floater to support multiple classrooms, assist lead teachers, and ensure consistent high-quality instruction. You will float between rooms as needed, covering for absent teachers and planning time, while promoting a positive learning environment.

Responsibilities include supporting student learning, maintaining safety, communicating with families, and participating in professional development to continually improve instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Associate Degree in Education or related field.
• CDA (Child Development Associates).
• Valid teaching certification or license where applicable.
• Previous classroom experience is desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to varying classroom environments and student needs.
• A genuine enthusiasm for teaching and learning.
• Patience, creativity, and problem-solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Assist lead teachers in developing and implementing lesson plans and instructional strategies.
• Float between classrooms, covering for absent teachers or planning time.
• Support students in various subjects and encourage academic growth.
• Maintain an orderly, safe classroom and ensure school rules are followed.
• Collaborate with teachers and staff to assess progress and participate in team meetings.
• Provide individualized attention to students with different learning needs.
• Facilitate small group activities and assist with classroom management.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student progress and concerns.
• Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents within the school community.
