Job summary

Over the Rainbow Learning Center is seeking a Support Staff (Floater) for its Early Childhood Program in Connecticut. The floater supports multiple classrooms, upholds consistency, safety, and developmentally appropriate practice in a play-based setting.

Responsibilities include engaging children, aiding routines, and maintaining organized classrooms while following CTELDS guidelines. Excellent teamwork and reliable attendance are essential to the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience working with children in a group setting (preferred).
• CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain).
• Ability to meet physical demands of the role (lifting, standing, active movement).
• Must pass CT background check.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple classrooms while maintaining consistent expectations and structure.
• Actively engage with children throughout the day.
• Help maintain safe, organized, and fully functioning classrooms.
• Follow all health, safety, and supervision protocols without exception.
• Assist with daily routines, including diapering, meals, naps, and transitions.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff.
• Support curriculum implementation aligned with CTELDS.
• Maintain accurate communication using tools like Brightwheel.
• Uphold all center policies, procedures, and licensing requirements.
