Job summary

Sunny Days Early Childhood Developmental Services in California seeks Child Development Specialists to support infants and toddlers and families through home-based early intervention. You will conduct developmental assessments, implement IFSP goals, coach caregivers, provide services in homes or community settings, and document progress while maintaining HIPAA-compliant confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in child development, early childhood, teaching, or related field, or a special education credential.
• Experience in Early Intervention is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct developmental assessments, provide child development services utilizing the Parent Coaching Model (Rush & Sheldon).
• Follow each child’s IFSP and work with the family to develop strategies to help each child reach developmental goals.
• Utilize the family-centered parent coaching approach to build caregivers’ confidence and skills and to ensure progress is generalized.
• Provide services in the child’s natural environment, in families’ homes, daycare centers and/or other community settings.
• Provide re-assessments and write progress reports (typically bi-annual).
• Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children and families (HIPAA and/or State/Federal regulations).
