The Learning Lamp is seeking caring individuals to join our childcare team in a part-time role. You will help supervise, care for, and engage children during program hours, while supporting staff with activities and safety protocols.

Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Early Childhood Education certification is a plus.
• Previous experience with children; volunteer or teaching background counts.
• Willingness to complete required clearances and training including mandated reporter training.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
• Capacity for sitting, standing, walking, bending and stopping for long periods.
• Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate activities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• CPR and first aid certification.
• Patience, creativity, and a genuine love for working with children.

Aufgaben

• Ensure safety and well-being of children at all times.
• Supervise indoor and outdoor activities in a secure environment.
• Assist with feeding, diapering, toileting, and basic care routines.
• Foster independence by encouraging self-help skills appropriate to age.
• Follow the daily schedule and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Support classroom staff with games, arts and crafts, learning activities, and other developmental experiences.
• Maintain positive communication with parents, children and fellow staff members.
• Encourage positive behavior through patience, redirection and reinforcement.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards within the classroom and facility.
• Follow health and safety procedures and administer basic first aid when necessary.
• Assist with documentation related to daily activities, incidents, and observations.
• Support positive relationships with families through professional communication.
• Be flexible to work shifts based on program and staffing needs.
