Job summary

Normandy Schools Collaborative in Normandy, Missouri, is seeking a Building Substitute – School Support to join our team. The role is a full-time substitute assigned to a single school building, providing flexible, non-classroom support as needed to ensure smooth daily operations and a safe learning environment.

The substitute may assist with student supervision, testing coordination, and administrative tasks, in addition to classroom coverage, reporting to the Building Principal.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Missouri Substitute Teaching Certificate or Missouri Teaching Certificate.
• High school diploma or 60 college credits required.
• Pass a criminal background check and fingerprint clearance.
• Minimum age 21.

Responsibilities

• Substitute for classroom teachers during short-term or unplanned absences.
• Implement lesson plans or instructional activities provided by teachers or instructional coaches.
• Maintain order, manage student behavior, and uphold school policies and expectations.
• Supervise students independently or with co-teachers/paraprofessionals.
• Provide coverage and support in non-classroom roles (front office, health office, library, in-school suspension, etc.).
• Assist in setup, monitoring, and collection of materials for assessments and progress monitoring.
• Support teachers, counselors, specialists, or interventionists during instruction or small-group pull-outs.
• Respond to last-minute needs and emergencies to ensure a safe learning environment.
